Review of the French Riviera Classic tradeshow

The Allianz Riviera is delighted to note the excitement surrounding this second French Riviera Classic, focusing on “The Automobile and Cinema on the French Riviera”, and it points out that attendance is up both among exhibitors and visitors.

The figures say it all… No less than 138 exhibitors came forth! That is 3 times the amount who showed up last year to share their passion for collector vehicles. As for visitors, they too hit a record for the Allianz Riviera, since there were 17,000 this year, up by 5,000 since the last show at the MIN.

Visitors included Eric Ciotti, Chairman of the County Council of Alpes-Maritimes, Christian Estrosi, MP, Mayor of Nice, Chairman of Nice-Côte d’Azur Metropolitan Area, and Patrick Tambay, Deputy Mayor of Le Cannet and a former F1 pilot, whom we were honoured to welcome.

The success of this second edition lasted through the auction, where about thirty cars found a buyer. Among them, an AC Cobra 427 Roadster was sold for €550,000, and a Ferrari 330 GT/65 Evolution California Spyder went for €1,550,000.

The Allianz Riviera trusts that the public had as much fun as the organisers in exploring the venue from a new angle, worthy of a genuine film set. Describing this outstanding event, Allianz Riviera Chairman Sylvia Colloc said “Once again, this tradeshow shows how well a modern facility can adapt to any kind of event and can successfully reinvent itself every time.   The Allianz Riviera is already looking forward to hosting the next edition.”
