Muffat/Laporte: trailblazing together

Bernard Laporte, the iconic trainer, and Camille Muffat, the match patron, have agreed to play a walk-on part, for one video, to celebrate the clash between RC Toulon and ASM Clermont Auvergne, next November 29th. A match between French rugby's two "old rivals" that, for one magical afternoon, will turn Nice into the capital of French rugby.

An outstanding event, in an outstanding setting!

A little more than a year after their first confrontation on the Allianz Riviera pitch, the two Top 14 leaders meet again, on 29 November 2014, in Nice for a return match that is sure to be explosive. The rivalry between second-place RC Toulon, which had a memorable 2013/2014 season winning both the European Championship and the French Championship, and the current leader, ASM Clermont Auvergne, is such that it deserves an equally spectacular setting. For the occasion Allianz Riviera, the new home of rugby on the Côte d'Azur, will be ablaze with lights to offer spectators an unforgettable experience.

The day begins at 11:45 AM with a host of events at the entrance to the stadium. As well as visiting the National Sport Museum, decorated in RC Toulon's colours for the occasion, spectators will be able to listen to rock music at a concert on the stadium's esplanade. There will also be a strolling batucada (music made with Brazilian percussion instruments) ensemble to entertain the public. They will also be able to get food from one of the many food trucks installed around Allianz Riviera.

And other treats lie in wait for the spectators when the gates open at 12:45PM. As well as rugby demonstrations – one by the 2–7 year old children of the Rugbytots programme and the other presenting rugby sevens – the public will be entertained with traditional songs by the vocal group Coupo Santo and the famous pilou-pilou and other surprises.

Swept away by such passion, no doubt the mock kick-off by the match's Nice patron, Camille Muffat, raised the temperature another notch before the official start of the match, scheduled for 2:45PM.
