A surprise for the Allianz Riviera’s 10,000th visitor

During the visitors’ tour last Saturday May 30th, 2015, the Allianz Riviera crossed the symbolic bar of 10,000 visitors. In partnership with the OGC Nice, visitors on that day got a surprise when they saw three former Aiglon players in the changing room, which is normally reserved for the Nice team’s professional staff.

Visitors were delighted to be treated to a host of photos, autographs, questions & answers in the press conference room. So it was something of a special tour with those three hosts who have worn the team’s red and black jersey back in the 1990s and 2000s. Patrice Alberganti, Christophe Meslin and Emerse Faé guided the tour group through the athletes’ area in the Allianz Riviera while sharing a few anecdotes and memories from their career at the OGC Nice.

September 21st, 2014… on that day the new Plaine du Var multipurpose stadium opened its doors to the general public for the first time. It was a Doors Open Day to celebrate the first anniversary of the Nice enclosure, as part of the European Heritage Days. The event was a great success, attracting many visitors who were able to explore behind the scenes at the Allianz Riviera.

Since then, numerous visitors have come, seeking areas that are usually off-limits to the public. Whether pupils from a primary school in Nice or students from Sciences-Po in Menton, everyone was given to enjoy the hidden side of this architectural wonder, now the new home of the Aiglons. The Allianz Riviera also welcomed visitors from Finland (construction entrepreneurs), Sweden (engineers and architects), New Zealand (representatives from the City of Christchurch who are to rebuild a stadium following the 2011 earthquake) and Japan (from the Japan Sport Council, who are working on the Tokyo Olympics for 2020).
