A new record for the Allianz Riviera

What a great way for the OGC Nice to end its League 1 season at the Allianz Riviera!

There was an incredible party going on on the field and in the stands. Indeed, the response from Nice fans to the call from OGC Nice was massive: 35,596 people showed up, a record attendance for the stadium since it opened in September 2013!

on that Saturday May 7th, 2016, the record for the largest amount of people ever assembled inside the stadium was positively beaten. The previous record had been held by the France v Paraguay football match, held on June 1st, 2014, just prior to the departure of the French national team for the World Cup in Brazil.

With tonight’s match, the Allianz Riviera has now admitted a grand total of 1,483,829 spectators since its opening in September 2013, 81% of whom came for OGC Nice, and the rest for “Les Bleus”, RC Toulon, as well as Nitro Circus and the Danone Nations Cup.

This already means 3 successful seasons for the Allianz Riviera. And it’s far from over, with a summer season that includes 4 Euro 2016 matches from June 12th to 27th and the Rihanna concert on July 15th!
